eSciDoc is a complex software system. We do not offer an out-of-the-box experience, even though we work hard to simplify the installation, deployment, and usage of eSciDoc.

We are well aware that our documentation is unsatisfactory. Until we provide an extensive user guide and tutorials, you may find the following resources helpful:

* [eSciDoc Infrastructure Users Mailing List | https://www.escidoc.org/mailman/listinfo/infrastructure-user]
* [eSciDoc Application Developer Mailing List|https://listserv.gwdg.de/mailman/listinfo/escidoc-dev-ext]

* [eSciDoc Portal | http://colab.mpdl.mpg.de/mediawiki/Portal:ESciDoc] at [CoLab Wiki | http://colab.mpdl.mpg.de/mediawiki/Main_Page]
* [Fedora Mailing Lists and archives | http://sourceforge.net/mail/?group_id=177054]

If you are interested in contributing code for the eSciDoc Infrastructure, you may find the following resources helpful:

* [eSciDoc Infrastructure Developers Mailing List | http://www.escidoc.org/mailman/listinfo/infrastructure-developer]
* [Software Architecture|InfrastructureDeveloperInformation]

Please keep in mind that eSciDoc is an open source project with very limited resources for support. If the above mentioned resources are not sufficient for your situation, please consider buying professional support (see below).
